Overtime Changed Everything

A Cowboys collapse ends a perfect run. Cincinnati survives a scare. And eight contestants live to pick another week.

46Total Eliminated

Week 8 didn’t eliminate anybody from Crunchtime’s Survivor Pool. But it did take something away: Keith's picks‘ perfect record.

Two overtime games delivered opposite outcomes for the remaining contestants. Dallas turned a commanding lead into a crushing loss, while Cincinnati escaped with four Crunchtime entries riding along.

One overtime loss. One overtime escape.

Dallas turns a sure thing into a first strike

For seven weeks, Keith's picks hadn’t missed. Week 8 seemed headed in the same direction when the Cowboys built a 17–3 lead over Arizona.

Then the lead vanished. Arizona clawed back to tie it 30–30 with just six seconds remaining in regulation, and Gardner Minshew led the Cardinals to an overtime victory. A game that looked safely in hand became Keith’s first miss of the season.

He’s still alive in this double-elimination pool—but the Executive Club just lost a member. Turns out a 14-point lead isn’t a lifetime membership card.

Cincinnati keeps four entries breathing

The Bengals were the popular choice, drawing 40.92% of Yahoo public Survivor picks. That didn’t make the game any easier to watch for McE, Miami, Scott H or Tim's picks of doom.

Cincinnati flirted with defeat before winning in overtime. For McE, the victory preserved a perfect season. For Miami, Scott H and Tim’s picks of doom, it prevented a second strike—and an immediate trip to Exile Island.

Dallas gave one survivor a first strike. Cincinnati kept three others from getting their second.

Two picks that refused to follow the crowd

Mrbubbajames backed the underdog Raiders against the Jets, a selection made by only 1.33% of Yahoo public Survivor users. Las Vegas won, rewarding the week’s boldest underdog gamble.

Tacoman9000 went even further off the beaten path with Detroit, selected by just 0.30% of Yahoo public users. The Lions won, too. It wasn’t the same underdog risk, but it was the rarer pick.

Only two perfect entries remain

Joe Buck and McE are the last members of the Executive Club. Keith moves to the One-Strike Lounge, joining five others who can no longer afford a miss.

🏝️ Exile Island

Still home to 46 eliminated entries. No new arrivals in Week 8. The island’s welcoming committee had a surprisingly quiet Sunday.

Eight remain alive. Two remain perfect. The field didn’t shrink this week, but after two very different overtime finishes, nobody should feel particularly comfortable heading into Week 9.
