Their Story

The GB Gamblers entered the league in 2006 and quickly got things going.  In their first two seasons, they lucked into the #1 draft pick and took LaDanian Tomlinson both years.  They were quite successful years as they finished 10-2 in 2006 and 9-3 in 2007.  However, they weren’t able to get past the 1st round of the playoffs either year.

In 2012, they took their next step.  A trip to the Championship Game. But a trophy just wasn’t in the cards. The Sons Of Anarchy put on a show and knocked out the Gamblers 100-65.

They now knew firsthand that they would need to put together a powerhouse to take it all.  So, in 2017, that’s what they did.  Their core consisted of Russell Wilson, Melvin Gordon, Mark Ingram, Julio Jones, and Travis Kelce.  They put up impressive numbers all season and would go on to break the single season scoring record and finish with a 10-2 record.  When the playoffs hit, they didn’t let up.  They edged the Midway Monsters in the first round with a score of 126-108.  This placed them against the #2 seeded Top Dawgs in the Title Game, which would end up as the 2nd highest combined scoring playoff game in league history.  In the end, the Gamblers came out on top, 118-115.

There would be no championship hangover for the Gamblers either. In 2018, they would go on to break the regular season scoring record again.  BY A LOT.  The previous season, they score 1370 points and went on to score 1609 this season.  Once the playoffs arrived, they kept their foot on the pedal.  They tossed aside the Sons Of Anarchy 110-51 and took down the Misfits in the Championship Game (126-99).

With 2 Championships under their belt, the GB Gamblers went on to win their 3rd straight Regular Season Title by going 9-3 in 2019.  With big stud Patrick Mahomes on their side, they looked unstoppable.  But, those pesky Sons Of Anarchy found revenge from the previous season and upset the Gamblers in the 1st round (101-93).  A stunning loss.  And 3-peat hopes squashed. In 2020, The Gamblers won their 4th straight Regular Season Title, but were ousted in the 1st round by the Darque Warriors.

2021 and 2022 were ones to forget for the Gamblers. They slipped below 0.500 both seasons. Has their magic worn off? Or were these just blips on the radar??
