History Repeats Itself.
Six years after Crunchtime’s first-ever tie, the GB Gamblers and Joe Buck Yourself somehow found the exact same ending. Meanwhile, Joe Burrow dropped a 51-point thunderbolt, the Dawgs went off, and the defending champions were sent home hungry.
Six Years Later, Crunchtime Has Its Second Tie
2026: 97.60 – 97.60
Until this week, the only tie in Crunchtime history was Week 2 of 2020, when the Midway Monsters and the then-Swashbuckling Scallywags both finished at 137.40. Josh Allen delivered 44.50 points for the Monsters, while Aaron Jones exploded for 42.60 for the Scallywags. Alvin Kamara added 29.40 for the Scallywags, and Calvin Ridley contributed 23.90 for the Monsters. It was a shootout with no winner.
Now the GB Gamblers and Joe Buck Yourself have joined that extremely exclusive club. This time, the final score was 97.60 apiece. Two ties in league history, and somehow both ended exactly even to the hundredth of a point. Crunchtime may need a separate trophy for teams that refuse to cooperate with mathematics.
A tie so rare it took six years to happen again
The Gamblers and Joe Buck Yourself played to a 97.60–97.60 draw, becoming only the second tied matchup in league history. The Gamblers entered 6–1, while Dennis and JBY came in 2–5. Neither got the win they were chasing.
Tee Higgins (WR1) carried the Gamblers with 28.50, Josh Jacobs added 17.20, and Tucker Kraft delivered 11.30. But Lamar Jackson finished with zero points in the starting quarterback slot. JBY countered with Trevor Lawrence (25.40), Blake Corum (13.30), Mike Gesicki (TE4) (13.60), and Kyren Williams (11.90). Will Reichard’s zero left the door open for a finish nobody could separate.

The Historical Footnote: 97.60 to 97.60. In a league that has seen thousands of points scored, these two landed on the same hundredth.
The What-If: Bo Nix scored 23.28 on the Gamblers bench, while Michael Wilson (WR4) posted 19.80. JBY left Tony Pollard (RB3) and his 26.70 points on the bench — again. That decision cost Dennis a chance to win last week, and this week it turned a win into a tie. At this point, did Pollard steal Dennis’s parking spot, or is he just permanently grounded?
Taco Man leaves the defending champs in the dust
Taco Man 9000 took down the reigning champions 112.08–95.48, a 16.60-point victory that keeps Hector’s team rolling.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR5) led the Taco attack with 18.80, Chuba Hubbard added 17.90, Matthew Golden scored 13.90, and Trey McBride (TE5) put up 13.20. Brandon Aubrey (K4) contributed 12.00. The Monsters got 22.30 from Braelon Allen and 22.00 from Bucky Irving, but Bijan Robinson’s 7.60 and George Pickens’ 4.80 left too much ground to recover.

Bench Watch: D’Andre Swift (RB4) erupted for 25.90 on Taco Man’s bench; Kyler Murray added 23.90. The Monsters had Jonah Coleman’s 16.40 and Jameson Williams’ 13.00 on the sideline.
The Dawgs bark loudest with the week’s biggest team score
Top Dawgs steamrolled Miami Jesters 131.62–94.58, winning by 37.04 points and posting the highest team total of Week 8.
Jordan Love poured in 27.52, Jahmyr Gibbs (RB5) delivered 23.80, Jaylen Warren contributed 21.30, and Brock Bowers (TE1) added 21.20. The Jaguars defense chipped in a massive 20.00. The Dawgs managed all that despite Drake London scoring 0.80 and Zay Flowers recording zero. For the Jesters, Jayden Daniels (16.98), James Cook (16.10), and Tyler Bass (K1) (16.00) led the way.

The Sledgehammer: Five Top Dawgs starters reached 20 points or more, including their defense.
Bench Watch: The Jesters had Jaylen Waddle’s 11.90 on the bench, but the 37.04-point deficit would have required much more than one substitution.
Burrow detonates the Pimps’ big week before it starts
Darque Warriors demolished the Pimps 124.48–82.30, a 42.18-point statement that made the pregame projections look like a practical joke.
Joe Burrow (QB1) erupted for an astonishing 51.48 fantasy points, with Ja’Marr Chase (WR3) adding 21.10 and Harold Fannin Jr. (TE3) scoring 14.40. The Pimps had a monster 28.90 from Bhayshul Tuten (RB2) and 21.80 from Dak Prescott, but Jonathan Taylor managed 2.70, Sam LaPorta 3.50, Amon-Ra St. Brown 5.60, and CeeDee Lamb 5.80. Four star names, just 17.60 combined.

Player of the Game: Joe Burrow (QB1), 51.48 points. He outscored the Pimps’ four big-name starters listed above by 33.88 all by himself.
Bench Watch: Drake Maye scored 26.46 on the Pimps bench, compared with Dak Prescott’s 21.80 as the starter. That switch alone would not have come close to erasing the loss.
Scallywags sail away as Irish Pride sinks
Scallywags handled Irish Pride 101.58–62.06, a 39.52-point win in a matchup that was effectively decided by the depth around the quarterbacks.
Kirk Cousins (QB2) delivered 34.18, the Steelers defense added 19.00, Dalton Kincaid (TE2) scored 14.60, and Derrick Henry put up 12.00. Josh Allen (QB5) was brilliant for Irish Pride with 30.56, but the rest of Rich’s starters combined for just 31.50. Omar Cooper Jr. recorded zero, Samaje Perine had 1.90, and Dallas Goedert finished with 3.20.

The Right Call: McE started Kirk Cousins (QB2) (34.18) over Patrick Mahomes (QB3) (32.44). Even with a superstar on the bench, the Scallywags chose the higher-scoring quarterback.

🏆 Week 8 Weekly Awards
The trophies nobody asked for, awarded to the performances nobody could ignore.
Joe Burrow · Darque Warriors
51.48 points. QB1 for the week, and the kind of quarterback performance that makes the opposing manager consider turning off notifications. The Warriors rolled past the Pimps, 124.48–82.30.
GB Gamblers & Joe Buck Yourself
97.60–97.60. The second tie in Crunchtime history, six years after the first. Somehow both teams left with a result, and neither left with bragging rights.
Tony Pollard · Joe Buck Yourself
26.70 points on the bench. RB3 for the week, yet Dennis sat him for a second straight week in which starting him could have delivered a win. At this point, Pollard might need to file a missing-person report for his starting job.
Top Dawgs
131.62 points. The week’s highest team score, powered by Jahmyr Gibbs (23.80), Brock Bowers (21.20) and the Jaguars D/ST (20.00). The Jesters never found an answer.
McE · Scallywags
Started Kirk Cousins (34.18) over Patrick Mahomes (32.44). It’s not often you bench Mahomes and get to say you made the right call. Scallywags won 101.58–62.06.
Taco Man 9000
Left D’Andre Swift’s 25.90 on the bench and still beat the defending champion Midway Monsters, 112.08–95.48. That’s a lineup decision you can laugh about only after the final whistle.
Clay Cooper’s Closing Whistle
The Gamblers and JBY stole the headlines with the league’s second tie, but the Warriors stole the spotlight on the field. Joe Burrow (QB1) put up 51.48 and the Pimps put up excuses. The Top Dawgs looked dangerous, Taco Man kept rolling, and the Scallywags took care of business while Irish Pride searched for scoring help.
Week 8 reminded everyone that projections are only suggestions, benches are where regret lives, and sometimes the fantasy gods just look at two perfectly equal scores and laugh.
