COMMISH’S WEEK 5 POWER RANKINGS
Five weeks are in the books, and the league is splitting into three camps: teams that have earned their spot, teams quietly building toward something bigger, and teams whose records might be hiding trouble. CPI 8.2 gives established success its due without ignoring the warning signs.
“The numbers don’t lie. The Commish doesn’t sugarcoat them.”
🏆 The Official Week 5 Top 10
CPI 8.2 — Proven Power & Momentum. All scores are on a 100-point scale. “Last Rank” compares against the Week 5 CPI 4.1 baseline because this is a formula change, not a new week of results.
🌮 Tacoman9000
Hector has earned the throne: four wins, the league’s best 35–10 All-Play record, and a 146.62-point Week 5 demolition of the Gamblers. The numbers respect his body of work, even with the Top Dawgs charging hard.
🐺 Top Dawgs
A 166.44-point thunderclap in Week 5 was the loudest performance of the season. Three straight wins and 28 All-Play victories over the last four weeks make the Dawgs a legitimate threat to take the top spot.
👑 Midway Monsters
The defending champions are doing that familiar thing: hanging around until everybody stops paying attention, then stacking wins. Three straight victories have them up four spots. The scoring floor still needs to improve, but the early-warning lights are flashing.
🎰 GB Gamblers
Four wins are four wins, and they’ve earned every one in the standings. But a 62.46-point Week 5 crash is a warning that the record is running ahead of the weekly scoring. Fourth feels earned—and vulnerable.
🛡️ Darque Warriors
Brad’s Warriors remain above .500, but 101.80 points were no match for the Dawgs’ Week 5 fireworks. Solid enough to stay in the upper half; not yet explosive enough to make a convincing top-three argument.
🍀 Irish Pride
Rich’s 1–4 record hides a brutal schedule and a team that has scored more than its record suggests. A 126.40-point Week 5 effort still wasn’t enough. CPI 8.2 puts the Irish sixth, narrowly ahead of the Pimps, but the wins need to follow.
💣 The Pimps
Ben’s team still owns a 29–16 season All-Play record, and CPI 8.2 gives that earned success real weight. But three straight losses and a 91.59-point average over the last three weeks push the Pimps down to seventh. The early-season firepower needs to return.
🃏 Miami Jesters
A 145.96-point eruption finally gave the Jesters something to celebrate. It was the fourth-highest single-week score in the league this season. One breakthrough doesn’t rewrite four difficult weeks—but it’s the kind of spark worth watching.
🏴☠️ The Scallywags
McE has three wins, a better scoring total than Joe Buck Yourself, and the same 12–33 season All-Play mark. Those wins count. The recent scoring trend remains concerning, but CPI 8.2 correctly refuses to confuse somebody else’s rebound with a stronger overall résumé.
🚨 Joe Buck Yourself
Dennis has improved from a brutal start, including a 116.68-point Week 4, but improvement alone isn’t proof of dominance. With one win and 418.30 points through five weeks, Joe Buck Yourself needs more competitive scoring before the CPI rewards a full-blown breakout.

🎤 THE STANDINGS TELL ONE STORY. THE CPI IS WATCHING THE NEXT ONE.
Hector’s TacoMan has earned the top spot. Nobody gets to hand-wave away four wins and a 35–10 All-Play mark. But the Dawgs are breathing down his neck after the biggest scoring day of the year, and the defending champion Monsters are quietly climbing back into the picture.
Meanwhile, the Pimps have a choice to make: rediscover the offense that made them terrifying in September, or watch that early-season cushion disappear. The Irish can tell you better than anyone that scoring enough to compete isn’t the same as catching a break on the schedule.
The Scallywags-Joe Buck Yourself comparison is why the CPI evolved: improvement deserves credit, but so do wins and sustained scoring. Now the next test is the one that matters. Will the teams the CPI is flagging look obvious in two weeks? That is when these rankings earn their reputation. And with five weekly-score payouts on the line, one enormous Sunday can still rewrite the money board.
“Respect what they’ve earned. Recognize what they’re becoming.”
OFFICIAL CPI 8.2 METHOD: Season All-Play 20%; season winning percentage 15%; season scoring average 10%; last-four-week All-Play 20%; Emerging Strength 15%; recent scoring floor 10%; recent winning percentage 5%; season consistency 5%. Emerging Strength compares league-median-adjusted scoring in Weeks 4–5 with Weeks 2–3, with a neutral midpoint and capped extremes. The recent floor uses the second-lowest median-adjusted score in Weeks 2–5. Scores and records reflect completed games through Week 5 only. All-Play compares each team against all nine other teams each week. No roster projections or injury assumptions enter CPI. CPI 8.2 adjusts Emerging Strength: improvement bonuses are scaled by latest-two-week league-median-adjusted scoring strength (85% of median starts qualifying; 105% receives full bonus). Declining teams retain their momentum penalties.
