The season was a crazy rollercoaster for most teams. Some started hot, some started flat. As for the Irish Pride, they were hot all season long. They scored 100+ points every week but one, and that week they landed at 98 points. So, needless to say, the defending champs are the odds on favorites to win it again. They’re the #1 seed with a 11-2 record and had the top point total in the league. Tacoman9000, the Top Dawgs, and Joe Buck Yourself edged out a number of teams for the other 3 playoff spots. One more loss could have knocked any one of them out of the championship bracket.

The Darque Warriors, Midway Monsters, Pimps, and GB Gamblers fell just short or postseason dreams. One decision, one win could have change their season. That is how close the competition was this season. It was perhaps the tightest ever.

As for the Jesters and Scallywags, who had painful seasons…both had a glimmer of hope at one point in the season. One thing is for sure though. I highly doubt those Scallywags will draft a 49er in the near future.

Playoff Matchups

The Irish Pride are on a mission. They’ve been kicking ass all season long and are looking for a repeat of last season’s championship. As for Joe Buck Yourself, he finds himself in the playoffs yet again. He has now made the postseason both years that he has been in the league. However, last season it ended abruptly in the 1st round of the playoffs with an embarrassing loss to this same Irish Pride team.

2023 Playoff Score between the Irish Pride and JBY

The Irish are salivating here. They are looking to breeze right past this team who couldn’t get their head out of their ass last year. As for JBY, this is their revenge game. Their 10-3 season last year was blemished by that terrible loss. A win over the Irish Pride would be a huge statement and a even bigger act of redemption.

Both teams will be entering this 2-week long matchup without their MVPs. Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson are on BYE in Week 14, so that part of the battle will have to wait a week. The depth of these two teams will come into play and will be a big part of the first half here. The deja vu factor is huge here. Not only is this a rematch of the blowout last season, but Joe Buck Yourself is rolling out Justin Herbert again. Last season, this didn’t end well as Herbert was knocked out of the game and scored less than 2 fantasy points.

Also, Joe Buck Yourself started Breece Hall in the 2023 playoffs and he played those very same Miami Dolphins who he is facing this week. Last seasons point total: 1.8 fantasy points. I would be very nervous if I were JBY.

WIth that said, this is a new season and a new week. Anything can happen. The Irish Pride could have used all of their juice. Their dreams could come to an end in the 1st round. Their stable of stud RBs could fall apart. ….not likely, but you never know. One thing is for certain, it should be a closer battle this year. …right??

While the fans of TacoMan9000 are celebrating their team’s playoff berth in their first season in the league, there is a cause for concern here. Tacoman backed into the playoffs by losing 4 out his last 5 games. Their early season success helped pave the way to this chance at a championship. As for the Top Dawgs, they had to rattle off 4 wins in their last 5 games to barely secure their playoff spot. These are two teams on very different trajectories. Can TacoTruck get back on track when it counts most or are they going to pull a Joe Buck Yourself and disappear into the the night?

Statistically these teams are as even as it gets. They have identical records and near identical points per game. The only difference is the history. This is TacoMan’s first trip to the Crunchtime Playoffs, where it’s the Dawgs 16th trip to the postseason. Who will prevail? The rookie or the vet??

The Dawgs will be without their star QB in the first half of this matchup as Jayden Daniels (and WR – Terry McLaurin) are on BYE. TacoMan will also be without their valuable RB, Brian Robinson Jr as he is on BYE as well. But, this is a team game and everyone will need to step up to win this one. The Dawgs will be counting on their keeper WR – Ja’Marr Chase to have one of his breakout games to help the cause and Taco has Justin Jefferson all geared up on his side. This should be a tight battle where it will come down to the last of the Week 15 games.

Good luck to all, especially the Dawgy Dawgs!
