Last week, we saw the Champs go 5-0. Can they be stopped?? Also, the Gamblers continued their winning ways by hitting a 4-1 record. The Dawgs are demanding a recount in that game as there’s no way the Gamblers could legit beat them. The Scallywags faced a team who scored 79 points, yet they still found a way to lose again. Then, there’s the Midway Monsters and Jesters……oh dear. As for the Warriors, JBY, Tacotruck, and Pimps, they’re just elbowing each other just trying to get ahead.

Game of the week

#10 midway monsters (0-5) VS #8 JESTERS (1-4)

Week 6 – GAME OF THE WEAK INTRO

As an equal opportunity league, we give everyone the spotlight. Even these guys. Someone let the Monsters know that the 2024 season is here. Everyone is at the backstretch, while Midway’s horse is grazing on a weed in the starting gate. In all fairness though, if Midway can duplicate last week, they have a real shot at winning this matchup. They scored their first 100 point game of the year. Their opponent this week, the Jesers, have only scored 1 triple digit game as well. So, whoever can put those points up, they should walk away with a win here.

The Monsters have the edge. ESPN is giving them a sizable advantage in the FLEX position. With Montgomery back from a bye, the Monsters have that power running game to put up some points. Josh Jacobs facing a weak Cardinal defense will also help them score. The Jesters will need Burrow to play like Week 5 and DK Metcalf and Amon-Ra St. Brown need to step up and be the stud WRs that they were drafted for.

PREDICTION: This will be their last game of the week this year. j/k

DARQUE WARRIORS (3-2) VS IRISH PRIDE (5-0)

The Darque Warriors started out hot at 3-0, but have dropped their last 2 games. If Darque is looking for this to be their “get right” game, they better step it up, because they are facing the undefeated Irish Pride. The Irish have topped 100 points every game this year and don’t look to be letting up.

DID YOU KNOW??

For the last 3 years, these teams have faced each other twice. Each year, they have split wins. This year they face off only once. Who will take bragging rights??

Lamar Jackson has been the driving force for the Irish. He’s the #1 scoring player in the league, averaging nearly 29 points per game. He’s been consistent and an excellent anchor for the team. The Darque Warriors need Josh Allen to put up those kind of points this week to stay in the game. They face a somewhat disfunctional Jet team, but it will be tough.

Both are missing their stud RBs on a bye (Aaron Jones, Kyren Williams), so the #2’s will be in the spotlight (Etienne, James Cook).

ESPN favors Darque for some reason. Can they do it? Well, they better shake off their Questionable statuses and put up, because the Irish Pride will be lighting it up.

PREDICTION: Irish move to 6-0. There’s a lot of firepower here.

JOE BUCK YOURSELF (3-2) VS GB GAMBLERS (4-1)

The Gamblers come in at 4-1 with sole possession of 2nd place, while Joe Buck Yourself is sitting at 3-2 and in 6th place. You know JBY wants this one. A win here would vault him up in front of a few others. Last week JBY knocked out the #2 seed. They’re looking to do it again this week.

In this week’s look at hypothetical matchups, JBY and the Gamblers would have traded wins each week if they played each other every week. Will week 6 continue the trend and give the Gamblers the win??

ESPN gives the edge to the Gamblers due to their stronger FLEX position. Are James Conner and Jayden Reed better than JBY’s Breece Hall and Chase Brown. That’s a tough one.

PREDICTION: Stroud VS Patriots and Henry VS anyone. I’ll take JBY.

TACOMAN9000 (3-2) VS The Pimps (3-2)

These two are neck and neck. Same record. One in 4th place, the other in 5th. This game will put a gap between the two. While Tacoman9000 has been unpredictable, The Pimps are as regular as his menstrual cycle. Win, Loss, Win, Loss, Win. Well, guess what’s next??

While the headline here is Brock Purdy versus Jordan Love, the real firepower is in these teams’ RBs. Tacoman has the #2 RB in Alvin Kamara and The Pimps have the #3 RB in Saquon Barkley. If one of these players slips, the other could cash in. With Kamara playing in a chippy game against the Bucs, he’s gotta avoid getting kicked out.

The Pimps are willing their way to get Jonathan Taylor back. Though he’s injured, The Pimps threw him back into their lineup in hopes that will help the healing process. I told ya that Ben is strange one.

ESPN projects a 12 point win for The Pimps. They better hope Taylor plays!

PREDICTION: When the F*#@ would I pick The Pimps? Ugh, I guess this week. Jordan Love will crap all over the Cards. Saquon busts a few long ones. Pimps win.

Top DAWGS (2-3) VS swashbuckling scallywags (1-4)

Here’s two teams that really need to step it up. The Dawgs thought they were on the right track, entering last week on a 2-game win streak. However, they lost to the Gamblers and fell back below 0.500. Below 0.500 is where the Scallywags are as well. They are at 1-4 and riding a 3-game losing streak. Playoffs are possible with 6 losses, so both teams are definitely still alive, but they need to start getting on track.

The Scallywags have had it rough. Only one week ABOVE 80 points. While the Dawgs have a losing record, they have only scored BELOW that 80 point mark once.

Scallywags need to find a way to turn it up to have a chance here.

The Scallywags dream of the day they can start Christian McCaffrey and Nick Chubb. However, that day may come too late. Wtih all the injuries, the Scallywags are looking like the Bad News Bears and if it continues McE will be drinking like Walter Matthau. So, they need Jalen Hurts to steo up and be the QB he was drafted for. He’s currently #21 at his position. Wtih some sort of anchor, at least the Scallywags could have a starting point at competing.

The Top Dawgs will be hoping for Jayden Daniels to continue his promising rookie season and Ja’Marr Chase to repeat last week. Numbers like those should propel a win here. Of course Bijan Robinson actually performing like a 1st round pick would help too.

ESPN is favoring the Dawgs here. I;m sure the Scallywags would like to pull of an upset here though.

PREDICTION: Ruff Ruff
