Commish goes 4-1 in last weeks picks with only the Midway Monsters losing to the Darque Warriors being the disappointing pick. As we are back on track with our savant ways, we head into Week 4, which is equivalent to the 2nd quarter of the regular season. We’ve got 2 unbeaten teams, 2 winless teams, and a whole bunch of trash in the middle.

Game of the week

#4 THE PIMPS (2-1) VS #1 IRISH PRIDE (3-0)

Week 4 – Gotw intro

A long, storied rivalry meets again. These two have faced off 31 times! The Irish Pride lead the series 16-15 and won their last matchup against The Pimps with a score of 121-110. The Irish come into this one undefeated and the #1 seed, however, The Pimps are off to a hot start as well. They took down Joe Buck Yourself last week and are currently the #4 seed with a 2-1 record.

The Pimps are built to run. They boast 3 of the top 9 Running Backs in the league (#1 Barkley, #6 Taylor, #9 Dobbins). These 3 have been pivotal for The Pimps success and have helped cover their glaring weakness. The Pimps Wide Receivers have been a thorn in their side. The Pimps top WR thus far is Drake London, who is sitting at the #26 WR in the league, followed by Jaylen Waddle (#43). Those guys must step up if they want a chance against the Irish Pride.

The Irish Pride have a strong backfield as well. They have two top 5 RBs on their squad (#4 James Cook, #5 Kyren Williams). However, unlike The Pimps, the Irish have WRs who are producing. Rashee Rice sits at the #5 spot for WRs and #17 Stefon Diggs. Add in Lamar Jackson (#2 QB) and the Irish are looking tough.

PREDICTION: Should be a doozy. Irish Pride win due to more Niners in their starting lineup and go 4-0 in the month of September!

This week in crunchtime history

  • Taint Spotters set the record for Fewest Points Scored in a Win (32.24) in 2004 Week 4!
  • Taint Spotters & Darque Warriors set the record for Lowest Combined Score (60.35) in 2004 Week 4!

DARQUE WARRIORS (3-0) VS GB GAMBLERS (2-1)

The (#2) Darque Warriors match up against the (#5) GB Gamblers. Darque has started the season hot, but is paying the price for it now. Half their team is worn down and Questionable.

This rivalry is tight overall with the Darque Warriors leading the series 13-12. However, since 2019 the Warriors have been absolutely been giving it to the Gamblers. They are 7-2 in their last 9 meetings.

While Darque is rolling out the #1 QB in the league (Josh Allen), the Gamblers are pushing out the wildcard QB in Kyler Murray. The guy can put up serious points…that is, unless he played too much Call of Duty the night before.

ESPN is giving the Gamblers a big edge here. Can they knock down the 3-0 Darque Warriors?? It would take a complete team effort if he does.

PREDICTION: This is a tough one….but, Gamblers. The coin flip said so.

MIDWAY MONSTERS (0-3) VS JOE BUCK YOURSELF (1-2)

What in the hell happened to these two? Both looked to be top contenders following the draft. Now, they only have 1 between the two of them?? Joe Buck Yourself lit up the scoreboard in Week 1, but then dropped a dookie in Week 2. In Week 3 he did rebound a bit, but still took his second loss of the season that week. Is he on his way back up or is this season going to be a painful one?

Midway is still trying to get his head out of his ass and get a win. He drafted Patrick Mahomes to help lead the way this season, but the Chief’s QB is currently ranked #14 among his position. Brock Bowers is his only top 10 player at their position, but he is a TE and that’s only going to help so much.

Truth be told though, one of these teams will work their way back and make the playoffs and a win here would go a lonnng ways toward that.

PREDICTION: We’ve probably picked the Monsters every week so far and have been wrong each week. So, we’re too far down these tracks to get off. Despite Stroud annihilating the Jaguars, Monsters will edge out JBY for the win.

TACOMAN9000 (2-1) VS Top DAWGS (1-2)

TACOMAN9000 enters this week coming off a big win against the GB Gamblers. They’re 2-1 and in 3rd place. As for the Dawgs, they finally got on the board last week by taking down the Jesters for their 1st win. The Dawg Palace was rocking and everything was right in the world again.

Tacoman is in a good place and if Aaron Rodgers were to return to his previous form, this team is going places. However, this week will be a challenge going into the Dawg Palace. The fans literally can will this team to win, they are that beloved.

PREDICTION: Is this a joke? The Dawgs win this matchup 10 times out of 10.

JESTERS (0-3) VS SCALLYWAGS (1-2)

The Jesters (0-3) need to wake up. Their lineup is solid, though Zamir White is certainly more than asleep. He’s comatose. Currently the #51 RB and still being rolled out there. That’s commitment. The Scallywags are missing a few pieces to their puzzle. The question is, can they sneak in a few wins to buy some time for their players to heal up.

The Jesters have 2 WRs facing off in the same game (Metcalf, St. Brown). You can bet that the Scallywags will be rooting for a low scoring game there!

PREDICTION: Jesters win one! And i mean 1. Like the only game they are going to win all year. J/k, there will be more…maybe. possibly.
