Their Story
The Pimps are a Charter Member of the League. Established in 2000, they quickly got to work.
Though they would miss the playoffs in Season 1, they stepped it up in 2001. Their team was powered my two top-tier running backs, Marshall Faulk and Priest Holmes. When they got going, it was hard for the league to catch up. This duo did their work in the Championship Game too, as they took down the defending champion Top Dawgs in amazing fashion. Rumors have it that the Dawgs can still hear Holmes and Faulk galloping by.
A few seasons later, The Pimps were put to the task of stopping the IcEbAy bAsHeRs in the Big Game. The Bashers were defending back-to-back champions, and were looking for the almighty 3-peat. ..and just like the Top Dawgs, the Bashers couldn’t keep up with The Pimps high powered offense. The Pimps went on to take their 2nd League Championship with a score of 80-68.
Since then, they have made the playoffs just three times since that 2004 championship season. In 2013, they actually made it back to the Title Game, but the Dawgs were able to send them packing. After that, it has been a bunch of 0.500 seasons. Something has got to change for The Pimps to return to their glory years. Perhaps a few more transactions during the year? Or maybe being the leader of the Tony Romo fan club has just taken a toll on their owner.
UPDATE: After barely missing the playoffs the past few years, The Pimps made a strong run in 2023. They finished the regular season with an 8-5 regular season record and earned the #2 playoff seed. Powered by Dak Prescott and Christian McCaffrey, they met the Irish Pride in the Championship Game. However, relying on a Cowboy QB to win them a title, a letdown was inevitable. The Pimps fell short once again.
