THE COMMISH’SPOWER RANKINGSWEEK 09
CPI 8.4 • PERFORMANCE + CONSISTENCY • RESULTS THROUGH WEEK 8
Eight completed weeks, a second tie in league history, and a new consistency component reshape the power order. Every team has been rated using CPI 8.4 while retaining the same roster-formation analysis.
“Respect what they’ve earned. Recognize what they’re becoming.”
🏆 The Week 9 Top 10
Taco Man 9000
A 112.08–95.48 win over the reigning champions pushes Hector to 6–2. Taco owns the league’s best All-Play record (56–16) and has scored at least 112 points in six of eight weeks. The adjusted recent-form score rewards that reliable firepower. The 146.62-point Week 5 eruption showed the ceiling, but it is the week-to-week consistency that makes Taco difficult to catch. With only two losses through eight games, Hector has earned the top spot on more than just one highlight-reel Sunday.
🏈 BALANCED TWO-BACK SET
6 of 8 weeks: RB + FLEX RB + FLEX WRThe usual setup features two running backs and three wide receivers, using one FLEX spot for each position.
⚡ WHAT’S POWERING THEM
Leading established offensive contributors by points in Crunchtime starting lineups, Weeks 1–8. Bench points excluded.
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba (8 starts)162.96 pts
- D’Andre Swift (7 starts)101.80 pts
- Matthew Stafford (5 starts)99.66 pts
- Chuba Hubbard (6 starts)92.30 pts
- Trey McBride (8 starts)85.40 pts
Top Dawgs
The Dawgs lead the league with 931.02 points, including a 131.62-point Week 8 win. Their Week 6 stumble no longer dominates the recent-form calculation; a 48–24 All-Play record and the season’s 166.44-point high keep them among the elite. The Week 8 lineup delivered across several positions, with Gibbs, Warren, Bowers and the Jaguars defense all scoring at least 20. That kind of balance makes the Dawgs dangerous even when a marquee receiver has a quiet afternoon.

- Zay Flowers (7 starts)85.20 pts
- Drake London (8 starts)72.80 pts
The Pimps
The Pimps absorbed an 82.30-point loss to the Warriors, but the revised formula avoids treating one rough Sunday as a season collapse. Ben still has 881.68 points and a 48–24 All-Play mark. Two sub-threshold recent weeks earn only a two-point penalty. Bhayshul Tuten supplied 28.90 points in Week 8, but the usual stars could not keep pace with Burrow and the Warriors. The underlying season-long scoring strength remains real; Ben needs a collective bounce-back rather than another one-man rescue mission.
🏈 MULTIPLE-LOOK OFFENSE
4 RB/RB · 3 RB/WR · 0 RB/TE · 1 WR/WRThis team has varied its two FLEX positions rather than committing to a single lineup shape.

- Bhayshul Tuten (7 starts)92.10 pts
- Amon-Ra St. Brown (7 starts)90.00 pts
GB Gamblers
At 6–1–1, Corey’s Gamblers have the best ESPN record. A 97.60–97.60 tie with JBY was historic but hardly a statement game. The index gives them substantial credit for winning while recognizing their more modest 40.5–31.5 All-Play profile. Tee Higgins supplied 28.50 points in the tie, but a zero from Lamar Jackson kept the offense from pulling away. The Gamblers have built an excellent record, yet their path to holding a top-three CPI spot is to turn more of those narrow outcomes into convincing scoring weeks.

- Tucker Kraft (8 starts)53.50 pts
Darque Warriors
Joe Burrow’s 51.48-point Week 8 performance powered a 124.48–82.30 demolition of the Pimps. The Warriors are 5–3 and have won two straight; their recent production is rising, though the season-long All-Play record remains an even 36–36. Ja’Marr Chase added 21.10 and Harold Fannin Jr. contributed 14.40 in the same win, so the surge was not entirely a quarterback solo act. Another strong outing would give Brad a better argument for moving ahead of the Pimps in the next rankings.
🏈 THREE-BACK ATTACK
6 of 8 weeks: RB + RB + RBThis team regularly fills both FLEX spots with running backs, leaning on a three-RB lineup to maximize backfield production.

Midway Monsters
Tim’s defending champions lost 112.08–95.48 to Taco Man, slipping to 4–4. A 34–38 All-Play mark keeps their CPI in the middle, but the 109.92-point Week 7 outing and multiple wins since their 0–2 start provide reason to keep watching. Bucky Irving and Braelon Allen each cleared 22 points in Week 8, but the rest of the lineup could not match Taco’s depth. The champions are still close enough to the contenders that a couple of strong weeks could change the picture quickly.

Irish Pride
Josh Allen scored 30.56 in Week 8, nearly half of Irish Pride’s 62.06 total. Rich’s club has fallen to 2–6. Their 31–41 All-Play record is better than the head-to-head mark, but the recent scoring trend points the wrong way. Josh Allen continues to give Rich a chance at a big quarterback score, but one player cannot carry nine starting slots. The immediate challenge is finding dependable support so a strong Allen performance translates into a competitive team total.
🏈 THREE-BACK ATTACK
7 of 8 weeks: RB + RB + RBThis team regularly fills both FLEX spots with running backs, leaning on a three-RB lineup to maximize backfield production.

Joe Buck Yourself
Dennis escaped Week 8 without another loss, tying the Gamblers 97.60–97.60. Tony Pollard’s 26.70 points stayed on the bench for a second straight costly lineup decision. The scoring profile is better than 2–5–1 suggests, but wins are still missing. Trevor Lawrence contributed 25.40 points in the tie, while Tony Pollard’s 26.70 stayed on the bench. Dennis has enough individual production to trouble better-ranked teams, but the lineup decisions must start converting that potential into wins.

Scallywags
McE’s Scallywags beat Irish Pride 101.58–62.06, their third 100-point outing and fourth win. The model nevertheless places them last: 18–54 in All-Play, three recent weeks below 85% of league average, and the fewest season points. That result exposes a limitation worth monitoring rather than concealing. Kirk Cousins delivered 34.18 points and the Steelers defense added 19.00 in Week 8, helping McE stop the slide. The next challenge is proving that this rebound can stick after the 56.38- and 49.70-point outings in Weeks 6 and 7.

Miami Jesters
The Jesters have flashed a high ceiling, but just one 100-point week in eight games makes them the least consistent offense in the league. CPI 8.4 puts them tenth.

Player of the Week — Joe Burrow: 51.48 points and a decisive Warriors victory over the Pimps.
The History Books — Gamblers & JBY: The 97.60–97.60 tie is only the second in league history.
The Bark Is Back — Top Dawgs: A league-best 131.62 points in Week 8, reinforcing the top season scoring total.
The Pollard Paradox — Joe Buck Yourself: Tony Pollard’s 26.70 bench points were enough to turn a tie into a win if properly substituted.
🧮 Method & Audit
CPI 8.4 = 30 × All-Play win rate + 20 × adjusted recent-form score relative to the best team + 20 × actual win rate + 20 × season-average score relative to the best team + 10 × share of weeks scoring 100+ points. Recent form = 70% four-week average + 30% best-three-of-four average. Historical weeks are recalculated with the same benchmarks and formula. Smoothed CPI = 75% current raw CPI + 25% previous smoothed CPI; Week 1 begins at raw CPI. Rankings are sorted by smoothed CPI, with no manual overrides.
The 100+ WEEKS metric is new in CPI 8.4. Values should not be interpreted as week-over-week changes from CPI 8.4; the model itself changed. Player contributions and FLEX-formation observations are retained from the supplied Week 9 template.
